Meet Your Farmers

Michelle DeBruin and Aaron Steinglass have been perfecting their vegetable gardening skills over the year using organic and biodynamic techniques.  With many successful gardens under their belts, they have always had plenty to give away to family and friends.

With the help of family they are finally able to make their dream of farming to reality. They have returned to Marshall, North Carolina with their daughter, Althea, to farm a piece of land adjoining Pisgah National Forrest.

Michelle has also been pursuing her love of food preparation and has created unique items for sale at farmer stands.  She has been inspired by the work of Weston A. Price to create recipes from soaked grains and has spent time working on raw and gluten free products as well.  Her customers back in Baltimore still e-mail with requests for Raw Gluten Free Buckwheat Apple Granola and Raw Chocolate Almond-Butter Cups.

Hi! Are you the folks who had the wonderful squash soup, soda bread, baby spinach salad, etc etc. at The Marshall show??

I would like to pass your name and website along to our Food Vendor Committee for the Spruce Pine Potters Market. Our annual market happens the second weekend of October – Saturday and Sunday. We have approximately 1100 folks on Saturday and 500-600 on Sunday.

    Thanks much

    Aaron, Michelle & Althea,
I am as excited as you are with your new farm. You have done a wonderful job setting it up and I know you have much more to do. When you have the help of a Little Dancing Fairy working in your gardens, you have something extra special. I can’t wait to visit.
    Love, Woody & Debbie
